Craigslist Thrives, Newspapers Sell Parking

Check out this New York Times’ piece. The online classified founded by Craig Newmark doesn’t charge for most ads, but the little charged to realtors and others generates $80 million to $100 million annually for his 25 employees. Chump change for some stockholders, I guess. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times is so desperate, the braintrust at Tribune Co. decided to sell parking spaces to raise a few measly thousand dollars.
